Runxin F63C1 Automatic Softener Valve

Regenerates on a timer, at two in the morning, while you sleep.

The automatic control valve for a water softener: 4 cubic metres an hour, 1 inch ports, brine and drain connections, on the 2.5 inch thread of any FRP vessel up to 18 inches across. Set the regeneration days and the hour on the keypad and it runs the five-step cycle on its own, drawing brine from the tank, rinsing, and refilling the tank for next time.

In detail

The cycle

  1. Service. Hard water in, soft water out, for the days you set.
  2. Backwash. Lifts and cleans the resin bed.
  3. Brine and slow rinse. Draws salt water from the brine tank through the resin; the sodium swaps back onto the beads and the calcium and magnesium go to the drain.
  4. Fast rinse. Flushes the last of the brine.
  5. Brine refill. Puts water back in the salt tank to make brine for next time.

About two hours, at the hour you choose. Two in the morning is the usual.

Timer or meter

The C1 is a time-clock valve: it regenerates every so many days, whether the resin is spent or not. For a household with steady use that is the simple, reliable choice. If your use swings, a holiday house or a guest lodge, a metered valve that counts litres saves salt; ask us for it.

What it fits and needs

Every Runxin valve mounts on the 2.5 inch thread of an FRP vessel and needs three things inside the vessel: a 27 mm riser pipe cut to sit 1 to 2 mm below the vessel neck, a top distributor and a bottom strainer. Our 75 litre vessel ships with all three; a bare vessel from elsewhere needs them bought separately.

Vessels 6 to 18 inches across, so the 45, 75 and 100 litre sizes. A 3/8 inch brine line to the brine tank, a 1/2 inch drain line to a gully, a plug point within 1.5 m for the 12 volt adapter, and inlet pressure of 1.5 to 6 bar. The settings survive a power cut for three days.

Sizing

Our 75 litre vessel with 75 litres of resin suits most households; tell us your hardness from the test report and your household size and we set the regeneration days and the salt dose before it ships.
